History 12: Tuesday, 24 April
Today we looked at the map (purple sheet) of the opening shots in the Second World War. We examined why the Soviets would attack in the east. We also looked briefly at the speedy fall of France. We had a PPT discussion about Op Dynamo - the evacuation of Dunkirk; and looked at the end of Churchill's "Their Finest Hour" speech. Finally, we wrote a brief summary of the evacuation. For homework, please read and respond to the questions in DeMarco, pp 134-41. Tomorrow we will look at Op Sea Lion and the Battle of Britain.
